2015 Three Counties Tour

mk3Our Chairman Peter Kleyn with Fellow Rotarians on the 2014 International Three Counties Tour

It also supports the ACHAFR International Tour which last year was organised by the Rotary Club of Scunthorpe Pentagon covering the Three Counties of Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire. For 2015  the RODM - ACHAFR's German Chapter - will be organising the ACHAFR European Tour based in Luxembourg between June 12 and 14 for which the Entry List still has to open..

Although the Fellowship does not actually organise Fund Raising Events, it does support Rotary Clubs either holding or thinking of organising Classic Car Events for Charitable puposes. A list of such events can be found elsewhere in tis website. One initiative it does have however is its support for Rotary International's END POLIO NOW initiative through an arrangement with TyreFactors .who supply Tyres at wholesale prices and donate 2.5% of sales proceeds to The Rotary Foundation.

2015 Tour de Loire

SUNDAY 6th - 8th September, 2015

LoireSamurThe 2015 Rotary Classic Car Tour took place in early September, season of the “vendages”, among the vineyards and chateaux of the stunning "Valée de la Loire".

41 cars took part enjoying the great driving roads, fascinating visits, bonne cuisine, bonhomie and, of course, an element of competition.

The RRAF had exclusive use of the Hotel du Parc in Saumur.  As well as an excellent chef, the hotel boasted air-conditioned rooms, free wifi and secure gated parking.

The tour included a Loire boat trip and a wine tasting event and the route embraced visits to two further private chateaux.  These were off the well-trodden tourist tracks with the participants being hosted by the owners.

Full marks have to go to Cheif Possum Peter Griffiths and his Falmouth Team for putting on such a fantastic and enjoyable event
