Italy Tour 2021
We were very lucky to squeeze in a trip to Italy during a Covid break as a last hurrah for the Spider as Jo had told me I had to loose a car or her. The tour had been organised by the Italian Chapter (ARACI) to replace the Coast to Coast cancelled due to Covid. Driving down through Germany and Switzerland we followed the alpine roads and ignored the tunnels, it has to rate as one of the best drives ever and the Spider did not disappoint (3.2 six with 4wheel drive) it stuck to the road like a limpet. We also had our own Police force in two of their classic police cars, they were all serving officers one of them also a mechanic was in charge of their motor museum. As with all Italian trips at least 2/3hrs was spent on lunch with much wine mostly drunk by the 'ocifers'. Apart from two Germans in a lovely 1937 Mercedes and us brits all the other 50 or so cars were Italian entrants. We even won a cup, we think for just for turning up, all in all it was a great trip.
